[Guide]Writing a Letter

Post  Dave on Wed Mar 12, 2008 1:18 pm

Hello,
I would like to give some tips about how to write a letter to the government.
I will take this through steps so lets start with step 1.
____________________________________________________
Step 1. Where does it go to, and who is it from?

Always start your letter with the name and address of the location you're sending it and your own location for possible replies.

The name of the department where the letter goes to.
(Can be "Department Of Privatization")
The address of the designated place where the letter goes to.
(Should be "Pershing sq. 1" for now.)
The city where the letter is going to.
(Should be "Los Santos".)

Now you got something like this:
Code:

City Hall
Dept. Of Privatization
Pershing sq. 1
Los Santos

Then you will need to add your own name and address.
Which should be quiet easy.

You will have something like this.
Code:

Alex Daquilla
Jefferson Motel - Room 3
Los Santos

(There aren't streetnames yet, so you can improvise a bit on that part.)

Step. 2. The letter itself
Now think of the letter itself.
What do you want to say to the Dept. of Privatization.

Include the following into your letter:
- The reason you want to buy this house.
- The location of the house you want to buy. (Street Name, City etc.)

Now start writing your letter.
Start with things like:
- To whom this may concern.
- Dear sir/miss.
etc.

Your letter is total personal so I can't help you on writing it.

Here's what I get:
Code:

To whom this may concern,

I, Alex Daquilla, Would like to apply for the ownership of the house located at colinasstreet. 13, Las Colinas.
This house has a great history to my family who lived here a couple of years ago.
I've attached two photos of the house from outside and I left a map with the exact location.
Please take this in consideration and I hope to hear from you soon.

Kind Regards,
*Signed*
Alex Daquilla

(NOTE: Do Not Copy This! I Can Make Sure That It Won't Get Accepted If You Copy This Exact Letter!)

Just a small but powerful letter.
And don't forget to end your letter gently, with things like:
- Yours Sincerely,
- Kind Regards,
etc.

Step 3. The Attachments

The attachments are the most important in this case.
They show the exact location of where the house should be placed.

First add the word:
Code:

Attachments

So they will know these are the attachments.

Then add the photos you said in the letter and add the map.
For example:
Code:
The photos.

Code:
The Map.

Also, Don't forget to add the interior you would like to have.
Code:
Photo of the interior.

- Add the address where it comes from.

The Letter
- Add a nice opening sentence (To whom this may concern, Dear sir/Miss, etc.)
